The story behind the name

4F Farm because there are 4 of us and our last name starts with F and we live on a farm. The other thing is that we are all unfit for the military, hence the 4F.

Mine is the nickname my Dad gave me as a kid Ace plus the partial name of my shop: King Brahma's Livestock and Pets. And my shop is named after my first and favorite rooster King Brahma who was a massive light braham rooster.

Mine is sort of a double entendre. I use it all across the net, so anyone who knows me from one site will know who I am everywhere else.

I'm a retired vet. When I was in practice I did a lot of exotic bird medicine, and when I was in graduate school I did research on Amazon parrot behavior. I'm also a 6 foot tall woman of, shall we say, imposing build.

I'm a red head and have been called red for as long as I can remember.
We got roosters before we ever got hens and I've been know to rescue some really mean roo's and rehabilitate them so they can be rehomed after behavior modification, somewhere along the way I picked up the nickname and it stuck.

dlh are my initials...unicorn as I collect unicorns
(my prizes in collection is a cast iron flatbacked unicorn from a castle in germany circa 700 AD and a sculpture by the Russian artist that did the Vietnam war memorial in Washington D.C.)

Run-A-Muck Ranch......

Run...pretty obvious~~ALWAYS running for one thing or another. Wether it's the family or animals always going somewhere for one of them.
Muck~~Just kind of fit~~seeings how we have such a wide range of animals and breeds. Some/most of the animals are mutts(cross breeds)....But run-a-mutt ranch doesn't sound so nice....
Ranch~~just fit the name...

So that's how I came up with our farm name. It is also the name I use on some of the farm forums I belong too...

I have wanted to name this place Run-A-Muck Ranch for as long as we have lived here. And once the animals started arriving I couldn't wait. Now it is it is 'offically' named...

Our place use to be the #1 dairy farm for the county back in it's day. Long before we lived here... Through searching archieves and what not I also found out that our farm was also one of the #1 moonshine/boot legger outfits in it's day. Up in the hay loft in the barn there are still all the stills and what not used for the moonshine!!! It's pretty cool to see that stuff..And know that there is a bit of history on our land..
