the sultan thread

I wish I knew what they were saying... just so adorable. Hey, I have not heard much about how they lay? I know they are slow to mature, but being a newbie to Sultans, will they actually lay many eggs? I may have found my 'breed'. I just love them SOOOOOO much!!!
I have 8 bantams from ideal poultry and I normally get 6 eggs a day. sometimes 5, sometimes 7, infrequently 8 (happened only twice). I am pretty happy with that! I think they're paying their way :)

So this is our first Sultan ever, & I'm wondering if anyone can tell if it's a he or she at this point. 10 weeks old. I actually don't mind if she's a rooster!

Everyone said so already, but I'll chime in too, boy :) Very cute too! Lovely foot feathering, so far a nice looking comb development, and good beard and muff! He's very pretty! Congratulations :) I can't tell, does he have 5 toes on each foot? If so, he'd be fun to show :)

Only thing I can see as a "fault" is the crest feathers being twisted and flipped, but I bet that's from his pen mates, LOL. He's pretty awesome! So sweet looking too! My charlie isn't like he's supposed to be, all docile etc... he flaps his wings all the time when I pick him up, so I just give him "airplane rides" all the time, LOL.

I think his crest is like that because he is so nosy and sticks his head into everything! I was just out with them and he was repeatedly trying to stick his head into my sneaker. He has quite the personality.. he's too funny!
