the sultan thread

Pics
So I'm changing my mind about my little sultan. I think it might be a GIRL! I got more pictures and I think I might've been lucky on this one. It'll still be a little while before I know for sure but I dunno, it looks like it might be a girl :D

Here are the new photos. The chick is now 3 months old and is the only one of the possible males that doesn't have a reddening comb.

I had to trim the feathers in front of its eyes so it could see, but that crest looks pretty girly to me

That's all there is to the comb

The face is blurry, but look at that feminine stature!

in all my reading, this question has been asked several times, but I've never seen the answer.... What is the size difference between the standard and bantam Sultan? Are they all bantam size in the US?
Thanks to anyone who can answer that ;-)

I have heard thee is a standard and a bantam. I have 2 blue Sultans that I am told are standard.

I think I found the answer. Apparently, the standard are 4-5 lbs and the bantams are 34-36 oz? I also read for standard up to 6 lbs somewhere. I would love to build yet one more coop and run for a group of the bantams, but I've got my hands full already, LOL. I wouldn't want to put them in with anyone else for fear they'd get picked on! But they sound so sweet and lovable!

From what I've been reading, Sultans are incredibly friendly. This makes them desirable to us, but I'm planing on raising Seramas. Do you think bantam Sultans would get along well with Seramas? I'd only keep hens (with a couple of Serama Roos) What do those of you with experience think?
