They don't really sound like they're Speckled Sussex, I've also heard that you can get lighter versions of Speckled Sussex with almost buff colored feathers but they aren't good breed specimens.Hi everybody. I am new to Sussex but I bought a couple this year that were supposed to be Speckled. They are coming up on 5 weeks old and I am seriously doubting that they are Speckled. When I got them they were a creamy yellow color and now their feathers have come in as a yellowish-white with very little dark feathering at all. So what kind of Sussex do I have? Thanks for the help.

My next guess would be that they could be Buff Sussex as you mentioned that their feathers are coming though as a creamy colour, but they could feasibly turn out to be any kind of chicken :S
