The Sussex thread!

Die Vole .... DIE !

ha ha ha

Love that pic .... I am thinking of entering my specked Sussex Roo in the local Fair ... I hear poultry entries are sparse this year, and I don't care if it wins or not, it would be a great learning experience and fun too ....

what experiences do the rest of you have with this ? Do you think I shouldn't do it because I don't know much about showing or the SS standard ?

The only way to learn is to try. I didn't know anything about showing rabbits at first but took BOB in Polish and BOS in the overall at my first show. The judges told me what to work on in their notes. Also seeing other entries helped alot.

Shasty57 - if you are asking me - I was told by the man I got him from he was a pure specked sussex - now that I have had him a while, I really have grown to like him - he is alert, attentive to the hens, respectful when they are not interested in him and his feathers are bright - he is a clean bird.

So, like insanity said, I was hoping for some professional feedback on him via the fair entry. A ribbon would be cool, but I would not expect it - I just lucked into this roo in a trade !
