The Sussex thread!

I would order all pullets - you are bound to get a roo out of the 6 by the time they are older

My SS was placed into my mixed flock - he is a year old - he integrated just fine ... 2 days in a cage inside the netting and let him out the 3rd day and he was a gentleman right away - never a fuss with him.

Any idea y I can't get pics to post? I think my SS rooster is soooo gorgeous! I wanna show him off, but can't get them to work on my phone or on the computer! Grrr!!!

I know people have said girl but I just still don't feel sure! It was 13 weeks old the Sunday thats just been

I second that thought. We only got 4 pullets from two feed stores. One was a roo and another still questionable. (I suppose one could hope for better results ordering directly from hatchery.) In the future I will always buy extras anticipating getting roo'd.

ha ha ha getting roo'd !!!! I would say about 25% of my hatchery orders that are for pullets turn out to be roos .....

So order what you want and you are pretty sure to get a roo .... if you are going the hatchery route. Usually, if you are close to others you can fine a good roo about this time of year, when the others are assessing just how roo'd they have been.
