The Sussex thread!

Quote: Waltz's Ark in Colorado has some lovely Light Sussex. She has American,
Canadian and Australian lines. Mixed and separate. Naturally raised

I had 3 self blue (lavender) cockerels hatch as sports from a pair of my Coronations. I'm not interested in starting a new variety, but I will offer them for free and just shipping & box if anyone wants them. They are about 10-12 weeks old.

They are not mixed with my Lav Orps. They are in a completely separate pen on the far side of my barn encircled with a 5 ft. chain link fence. They have white legs.

Today I went to the feed store to get some grain and ended up with two SS chicks. Chicken math always gets me.

I have some coming May 10th! They are such pretty birds I can hardly wait.

Is it just my black Sussex but it has light yellowish markings on its breast all the way up until its eyes. I have searched around on the internet for black Sussex's but they have only got white or dark orange. Apart from the markings it is completely black without any white.
Love to hear if anyone has a black Sussex with the same coloured markings.:)
