I have 2 different feeders - one has a mixed organic chicken feed in it and the other is full of layer pellets. I'm sure he's getting more calcium than he needs, but I don't worry about it too much. They also get free range time where he gets more protein in insects and greens. So far he's been healthy and happy - and the one before him too.Hahah can I ask you what do u feed your rooster xx
Well - I'm absolutely not an expert on roosters - and I'm not a breeder, which might change things...however, I had my roo on layer pellets by 18 weeks, although like I said, he has a choice - I would go for it an not worry to much - unless of course, you have a Roo you want to breed with and need to make sure his minerals are balanced...?Oh right. Im just faffing about as people say not to give him layer pellets? How old was he when you started given them to him, do you think if I left mine (18week old cockerel) on layer pellets it would halm him he is free ranged and runs around dusk till dawn he eats insects ect ... I'm just worried I might damage himx![]()
She's sure a looker!Dorothy
