And those Silver Sussexes are amazing. I will not look them up because I am afraid I would have to have them!

I've got three little Speckleds which I posted here before. Now I'm thinking I have 2 cockerels and a pullet, because two combs grew and turned red and the other is smallish and still yellow. Strangely, they have not done much "fighting" with the other cockerels - the whole clown-collar-stare-down thing. Hmm. Maybe just a calmer temperament.

They are about 7 weeks old now, very friendly and curious. (The pics below are from 5 weeks.) The hen always comes up to me and is nealy always underfoot. She was the first bird to venture outside back when they were 5 weeks old and went outside for the first time. She's even taken to sitting beside the dog on the other side of the wire!

First foray into the wide world: She's so friendly!

Hey evryone
I got 12 S.S one from my first batch from P.P she's 13 1/2 weeks, and 11 in my new batch that are 3 1/2 weeks.
Wondering if and when the white chest goes away? my 13 week old still has it but more speckling than before, is this a common thing with hatchery stock or all SS, and they molt out of it as they get older? I've seen a few adults with more white on the breast, but most are just speckled........ any advice? I will post pictures later have to clean their brooder tonight and that will be a good time for pictures. TY all Kim
