The Sussex thread!

I don't have a full picture of this breed of my birds, but here is one of the head and neck. I guarantee you the rest of that bird looks exactly like the pictures you posted. If it isn't the same thing then it will surprise me. Maybe I just got lucky? I will try to get a good picture of the whole bird in the next day or so if you want me to.

It doesn't look like a Sussex, because of the yellow beak.

I knew somebody would ruin it. HA!

Still, maybe the beak is just a fault on this bird and it IS a Red Sussex?

Is your SS Organic? I'm looking for a SS roo if my 6 turn out to be girls. All my SS chicks are 12 weeks old and I'm trying to sex them. If it turns out that I have all girls, I'll be looking for an organic SS roo.

Yes, he (or she) has been fed organic. We're still trying to figure out gender. Send me a PM (because I missed your post here until now) if/when you're still interested.

Well, you can call it whatever you want to. It's your bird.

Likely though, TSC had a bin of "red layers," or something like that. As a general rule they are cross breeds or production birds, bred to be good egg layers. Whatever it is, I hope it brings you much happiness.

I did get those out of the production red bin. I didn't think they really were Red Sussex, but thought the similarities were interesting. But one thing that tells me they are not is I understand Sussex are generally easy going birds. The ones I have are fairly aggressive especially when feeding. What ever they are, I'll enjoy the eggs they lay!

But all that aside, I really wish I could get my hands on some good Speckled Sussex. I just love the way they look.

Yes, it can be transferred with humans and animals. If you look up on youtube Jeffrey Smith Seeds of Deception, you will learn a lot of what the GMO's are and how they effect humans and animals. Mice will have infertility problems in the 2nd or 3rd generation, miscarriages, babies dying, their testicles are smaller, blue and don't function properly and another gross thing is that they grow hair on their tongue. I think it was 3-4th generation, they can't reproduce anymore.

You can also listen to Robert Scott Bell, who is a homeopath interview Jeffrey Smith about GMO's on June 13. Robert is extremely knowledgeable in all kinds of alternative health, (he is a Homeopath), herbs, real nutrition, etc. http://www.naturalnewsradio.com/Archive-RobertScottBell.asp

You
can also find almost anything you need to know about real health (not the lies from big pharma) on naturalnews.com. You can just plug a few words in their search engine and you will find TONS of info on the subject and how to treat this or that problem naturally, with food, herbs, superfood, nutrition, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, gout, etc.
