I KNEW IT!! My girls are not able to free range in grass and garden!!! I had one man that made it very clear 'he knew what fresh eggs should taste like'---and he has not bought from me a second time.....
In fact, I have 2 or 3 only one time buyers.
Now, I know my eggs are tastier than the store--firm, yellow yolks. But, they may be lacking that 'certain something'--that really sets them apart. I knowing their food is fresh and I feed table scraps, pasta, oatmeal, etc; but I knew my eggs were missing that extra punch!
I have my girls in an enclosed run. I bring them every bug I can; they found a couple of young tarantulas a couple of times this summer--EEWWWWW! I brought them bermuda weeds that I pulled. But not enough I believe.
I have hawks, coyotes and raccoons, bobcats and Lord knows what else. And I watched my neighbor loose chicken after chicken from a coop not secure. So, I 'sewed' my run up tight.....
But---I do live pretty close to a SCHOOL............
