“Thank you.” She pushed the splintered stick away from her and licked up the poppy seeds, licking each of her kits until she fell asleep.

Dovekit pressed against her mother, suckling and mewling.

Brightcloud licked each of his kits, but his mind was too distracted to show much love and affection right now. "I'll be right back." He mewed to Mintpetal before walking out of the nursery and calling to Goldenstar. "Come in." Her voice rang out. He entered and sat down.

"Skykit had some weird dreams."
"So?"
"I think it's about the prophecy that Winterfire told you a few moons ago."
"Really?" She seemed intrigued now
"Yes. I was told that he saw a toritoseshell she-cat in his first dream and in the second she was enveloped in shadows until he couldn't see her anymore."
"Thank you for telling me, you can go now."
He dipped his head and padded back into the nursery
