~The Threat of The Shadows~ A Warrior Cat RP

She nodded shakily. “What do I do?”
“It’s okay,” Winterfire mewed reassuringly. “Lay down how you’re most comfortable.” She then addressed Cloverwing. “Quick. I need you to bring me a strong stick.”
Cloverwing dashed off immediately, returning just as quickly with a strong birch branch small enough for Mintpetal to bite down on.
“Here Mintpetal, bite down on this whenever you need to.” Winterfire mewed, stroking her tail repeatedly over Mintpetal’s swollen belly.

She lay down and blinked gratefully at both of them, taking the stick in her jaws. She whimpered and bit down on the stick, taking deep breaths as she felt one coming. Finally, there was a little kit laying in the moss.

Mintpetal gasped as another kit lay in the moss, and the pain finally ebbed, leaving her weak and trembling. She lifted her head weakly to look at her kits.
Winterfire gently lifted the kits closer to their mother. “I’ll be right back.” She mewed. She came back with a poppy seed, “Eat this to help you get a good sleep.”

“Thank you.” She pushed the splintered stick away from her and licked up the poppy seeds, licking each of her kits until she fell asleep.

Dovekit pressed against her mother, suckling and mewling.

“No problem.” Winterfire mewed, leaving to let the kits be alone with their mother. Cloverwing followed after the medicine cat, turning away and padding into the warrior’s den, doing her best not to wake Hickoryshade as she slipped into her nest.

He lifted his head sleepily. “What happened? I heard you running around.”
