Breezepaw, a dark gray tabby following her silently, padded towards the fresh-kill pile, snatching up a large squirrel, and trotted to the nursery, slipping inside. In the dim light she could see Mintpetal and her kits, including Skykit. Next to Skykit sat a black and white tomkit, invisible to the rest. She set the squirrel down at Mintpetal's feet, dipping her head. "I figured you would be hungry." She meowed softly, but didn't look away from Skykit, her orange eyes locked on the blue-gray pelt, and the starry kit beside it. The gray tabby slipped into the den, just like the kit she was unseen by the others, and nuzzled the black and white kit. "Momma," she heard the ethereal voice speak softly. "The kit," Breezepaw beckoned her feathery tail to Skykit in a sweeping motion. She sat down, staring up at the thicket of thorns, as if trying to see the sky. "They speak of him. Ocean-eye."“What?” She looked up, confused.

Breezepaw huffed, getting to her paws and pacing the small space restlessly. "The stars, Mintpetal! The cats that live here. They speak of Ocean-eye, the kit, claiming he will be the savior we are waiting for."“What are you talking about?”

Breezepaw paused, turning her unnerving fiery gaze on the she-cat. "Do not be scared," she murmured. She glanced at the gray tabby, blinking. Help me, Waterlight.“I’m not understanding you!” She drew her kits closer with her tail, frightened.
