This is just a joke, Fluffy. BUT… how about an EXTRA-LARGE broody community nest?Sorry… but I’m picturing a tiny broody in each corner, with Foureira nesting in the middle.

The way of the chicken!Indeed. So many broodies when I have no eggs to give them, yet so many eggs when there is no broody to take them
She's a busy mother, she doesn't have time for a pedicure anymore.Haven't updated this in a few days.
Things are going good, Foureira doesn't get up every day to stretch, but she's doing OK.
The other day while she was preening I tried to calmly scoop her up to give her a pedicure, but she wasn't into that one bit; she executed a fly-attack at my hand. I guess the future chicks will be safe![]()

But good that she'll keep the chicks safe!
Out of my 8 (now 7) original hens (all Buff Orps and Barred Rocks), only 1 (a BO) has ever gone broody and she was NOT fiery at all. In fact, she was quite "easy" to break (by "easy", I mean that I did not have to cage her - just removed her from.the nest box 542 time per day for about a week) and she never attacked me (just some growling and screeching).
Anyway, I guess I got lucky (I don't have a roo, and don't want to hatch eggs). However, I AM getting 2 Bantam Cochins in a couple of weeks, and I've heard those are notoriously broody. We'll see if my luck holds!
In your case, @fluffycrow , I suppose it's a good thing that Foureira is spicy! That must mean those mothering instincts are strong!
