The tiny serama; a Hatching adventure

Haha!! I see a tiny face, lol! Where does the white come from on the Littles? Dad?

Foureira is a good mum. I don't think I'd be able to handle not being able to cuddle the babies. 😭

Glad to know everyone is healthy and growing. Fingers crossed for the singleton and Ursula! :fl

Bio mum, I presume. One or more of these is Scary Spice's offspring for sure, as is Ursula's egg.

The most cuddly I've ever had were the two aseel brothers, so I'm used to not cuddling the chicks! As long as they learn how to chicken, I don't mind them not liking me

The babies are doing great! Foureira is an excellent teacher, and a bit of a b*tch towards me:p. Every time I change their water or add feed, my hand bleeds. But it's fine, having protective broodies is far more important than some very small wounds on my hands

The third egg is still under Ursula, we'll see what happens to it soon enough. Let's hope for the best.

As for recent pictures, here's the best you'll getView attachment 3921722. Mum tells them to get behind her any time I approach. Since you can't see it, I'll tell you. They have grown tiny wings and tails already! Fast growers, not even one week old
Oh my goodness, what a cute photo of the baby hiding behind mum!! ❤️ She's a wonderful broody!! 💞

Oh! For some reason I assumed Foureira was the bio mum. I forgot that's not necessarily how chicken parentage works.😅😅

Final update on all the eggs. The third egg did not hatch. I performed an eggtopsy of sorts, and it was fully formed, and had broken into the aircell (internal pipping) but never externally pipped. Maybe a malformation/bad positioning? Not sure.

I went ahead and buried it, along with one of bio mum's feathers. I have this stupid fear that I buried it alive, but I know that's not the case, it wasn't breathing, moving, or peeping.

Ursula hatched one egg, together with one of Cruella's daughters, which I named Ocean very recently. That chick is either Cruella's child or grand-child. It should have a good life being co-raised by Ursula and Ocean
