ouch our coop cost about $ 50 to build and about a $1.50 in band aids

Lumber : 500-600 dollars
electrical stuff:100 dollars
Fencing stuff: 75 dollars
tools: 150 dollars (just an excuse to buy more)
beer:25 dollars
first 22 chickens: free
next 50 Chickens 100 dollars.
second coop for new flock: see above.
repeat as necessary........................

Our main coop was gonna be built out of scraps of 40" 2x4's and pieces of ply wood so it would be almost free. But no my husband said with a lot of snow or high winds it wasn't a good idea piecing together 2x4's. So... $1000.00 later we have a beautiful coop that will last for many, many years.

Now our new Serama coop, very small, is a old redone rabbit hutch built with all left over everything. The only cost will be 2 latches and the hardwire cloth. All under $30.00.
