The Tummy tucking flab busters of BYC 2012

I'd love to join too! I only fit into two pairs of my jeans and can't wear anything remotely fitted around the waist. Any time I get dressed to go out I end up in tears because nothing looks good on me anymore. My husband bought me a Nautilus Incline Trainer with iFit Live and my plan is to start working out on Jan 1st. I love food and eat like a horse, so I'm also practicing portion control and banishing empty carbs from the house. I'm hoping to learn to eat like I should, not like I want. I'm a little nervous about doing this on my own and it would mean so much to me to feel like I belong to a group working toward a common goal.

You can do it! Changing eating habits is good too, but don't do so much of that so soon that you get too many cravings for the bad stuff and binge... do it in gradual steps. As you get fitter your body will want to eat better stuff anyway. Good luck

I did strict portion control (still do portion control on starchy carbs) and watch the empty and good carbs (starches) like a hawk!!!!! I have found for me the starchies (good or bad) put weight on me much quicker then anything else. I think a lot of us that put weight on through the middle (waist stomach) are in the same boat.

When you really look at portion size you become painfully aware of how much we really over eat especially meat and carbs.

I also found some things that satisfied cravings that weren't really bad, like no sugar hot cocoa made w/ half water half 2% milk (I really didn't like the all water it wasn't satifying).

I'm in for support and motivation....I'm actually not trying to lose weight....I'm crossfitting still, and I do NOT step on the scale! My quads have gotten bigger, my arms are more cut. I love the summer time, because my legs look decent in shorts.....but because my thighs have gotten more muscular, my jeans barely fit! DANG!

I'd love to trim my waistline, but it's slow going. I started incorporating more clean eating recipes, and I'm still drinking my Shakeology. I've also started a free Fit Club in our small town, since we do not have group fitness classes. It's free, but I encourage people to bring a canned food item to be donated to our local food pantry! So far, we've tried Brazil Butt Lift, 10 minute trainer, Body Gospel, and Turbo Fire. It's really nice to work out with all my local neighbors at the Fit Club!

Bring on 2012! I am comparing myself to last year at the same time....last year, I was drinking more, eating all the holiday candy, and not really having goals in mind....the last several months have pointed me in a better direction!

And my chickens are still really good! ;-)

I'm already learning! Thanks for the encouragement and advice. My midsection is definitely my problem area. I had a personal trainer a couple years ago and got into great shape but I had a lot more free time and one less kid back then. I remember staring in disbelief when he explained that a serving size of meat was the size of a deck of cards. I try to keep some form of chocolate around...usually something packaged small like Hershey's kisses. I can't give it up completely! I have learned that I have no willpower when it comes to baked goods, though. One brownie turns into 4!

Renie ~~ waving to everyone.... Thank you so much for asking me to join the new group as I sure enjoyed being a part of the old one. I worked really hard this yr and managed to drop 82lbs. Just by removing bad fats, white bread, sugar, and uping fiber. It has made a big difference in my life.

My daughter and grand baby moved up here in Nov. Well.. Granny has been cooking more than usual for the holidays. I have managed not to eat the sweets or the pastas... etc... but I have been over indulging in what I call legal foods.... and managed to gain 2lbs back

Like mentioned earlier.. not as much to do this time of yr for me. Lots of stress right now toooo.... My daughter has been diligently looking for a job for nearly 2 months now. The bills are coming in and I am feeingl so guilty for talking her into moving up here with us and leaving behind a good job. Talk about STRESS!!!

The good news is.. She is at a job interview right Now!.... The same type of job she had down south.... creating web sites etc. She has been gone for over 2 hrs. I am so nervous... feel like eating everything insight. Just keep telling myself... long interviews are good interviews.. lol
