Great!! I will be smoke free 3 years in April!
Okay Renie, if you join, I'll join. None of my clothes fits me anymore. My hubby keeps asking me why I wear my pants so tight!

Ideally, I'd like to lose 30 pounds, but I'll take anything.

Ughhh...I'm in..I need to drop 20+ lbs. I am joining a gym this week or getting my brothers treadmill to put in my bedroom..in front of tv

I have to thank Dr Oz for his weight loss tips. He aired a show about how Metamucil has an ingrendent in it that will grab the fat from the food you eat and flushes it out of your system. It assists with weight loss and lowers your cholesterol at the same time. Meanwhile I replaced all bad fats.. I use olive oil to cook with and only mayo that has olive oil in it. Very little mayo mind you.. lol I like using spicey mustard<< on turkey sandwhiches
I have whole grain pasta but replace that with a fiberous lo calorie veggies like spaghetti squash on occasion. I don't drink soda of any kind....I do use a sugar substitute on my oatmeal every morning. I love love love oatmeal ... but it can't be mushy .. YUCK... alternating fruit like strawberries, black berries, apple sauce, and fresh bananas keep me from getting bored with it.

I drank alot of water when I started doing this back in Feb of this yr. I think it is very important to flush your system and never look back... For me.. fat and sugary foods call me like drugs to a junky... I had to break clean of them and drinking the water helped me with that alot. Fruit tastes sweeter ... everything tastes better... You will discover what they reallllly taste like and how good they really are.. lol Reminding yourself that it won't kill you not to eat chocolate cake... and it isn't a sin to eat if you are truly hungry... But walk away from empty high calorie food and choose something healthy. Get away from what ever is stressing you... go for a walk... breath that fresh air... enjoy what the Lord has made

You will find peace. Meanwhile I need to get back to drinking more water myself.

Santa brought me a convection oven for Christmas. Baked a lovely chicken in it last night. Very tasty I might add.. lol

Lossing weight for me isn't a diet.... it is a life change. I promised God I would do better if he gave me a second chance...so doing my best to keep that promise.

I'm in, too, Oesdog! I was doing fairly well this year until the past few weeks. If I could loose 15 pounds I would feel so much better, and have 4 or 5 more pairs of jeans and 6 skirts I could get into. It's funny, before I had my son my weight always went onto my hips and rear, but now I've got a ponchy belly of fat on my waist that makes me cringe when I look in the mirror. My goal is to do my friend's yoga class (very intense) once a week, go to the gym twice a week, and play my new workout program on the ps3 once or twice a week. Hold me to it, folks! Oh, and to throw out the remaining Christmas cookies. I actually cookand eat pretty healthy overall, but it's the cookies and candy that does me in.

This thread is great because I really need the push to get fit. I need to lose at least 20 lbs to be at my ideal body weight so that is my challenge. I also just had knee surgery so I start physical therapy 3 times a week soon, and I plan to use my university's gym to bike on the in between days. My mom had been on the medifast diet but has pretty much stopped now that she is at her goal weight. She still has a shipping box with 30-40 unopened boxes of meals, so I'm planning on supplementing some of my meals with those too. Hopefully I'll be able to go out an buy a bikini for summer!

Wow chicks who would have thought it.If I could get into my 32's I used to wear?"like put them over my arm"! i could have lots of clothes too!I won't let Deb throw them away cause some day I may wear them again!2012 here we come!
I like the metamucil idea since I'm over 50 and need regularity!
I've been "wieghing the idea",of posting a pic to keep me honest.Like before and after shots but that may be a bit" much"!There is only so much space on the screen you know.

OK, my 1st weigh in.... been holding steady at about 135 for 2 weeks now. Down from about 150 over a year ago.

yea! I have missed the comradery from last year's thread!
I have already started walking for my health. I have decided the weight is less important than the mind and body. I have to force myself to be in a better mental arena, and I enjoy walking.
Thanks for starting it up again, Oesdog!
