Cats....I hate dogs with a passion they are loud,useless and serve no purpose...I'm not that needy to need an animal up my butt all day I have one dog now and waiting for it to kick the bucket already. Only have this dog as it was a companion for my other dog that had a seizure and fell down a flight of stairs and broke it's back...would never get another one after this one as their brainless to.

Oh wow! you have quite strong opinions!! I won’t try to change yours as everyone has different feelings and that’s fine but I will just say that not all dogs are like that! Not by a long shot! There are tons of different breeds and breed mixes and some act more like cats than dogs! very independent, quiet, clean, etc. and many are very very intelligent too and serve loads of purposes like service dogs, police dogs, herding dogs, etc. I think you just haven’t met the right dog yet!! There’s a lot of great ones and ones that would leave you alone and not be clingy Velcro lol for me, I don’t think I would have a cat again as I hate litter boxes and the moody, temperamental things LOL

Aww sorry that stinks! Maybe you need a short coated one or like a poodle or something that doesn’t shed lol or an outside dog some of the stuff could be training and boredom too even something weird like excessive scratching and licking or also sometimes excessive scratching is allergies too like maybe to her food or something. Sorry you lost your dog so young too.

Sounds like your dog needs a visit to the vet. If it's scratching all the time, something is irritating it. Fleas? Food allergy? Believe me, the itching is bothering the dog far more than it's bothering you.

Well, given that I've grown up with both cats and dogs all my life -50 years now - the 1st curious question I have regarding the "constantly scratching".... What brand and model of food does it get? Reason? Because like humans, dogs can have allergic reaction to foods. Our Vet helped me solve our rescued Silver-golden-doodle itchy issue. She now takes fish oil gelcaps in her meals nearly every day and it's nearly a zero issue. Butidigress...
2nd is what breed or mix is it?
3rd when was the last time it was bathed?
If you waited to take a shower for a few weeks the exfoliating buildup would be just like when the doctor cuts the cast off a broken leg. Same goes for a animal that hasn't had a bath in a while.... That and a good brushing once in a while also reduces the need for feeling the need the scratch all day- every day.
4th when was the last time you had fleas on the pets?

Not everyone is a good fit for having pets of any type. Just like some folks aren't good to have kids - they just don't have the right tools in their toolbox. They can learn the needed tools if they want but, it's their life and their choices.

Of course YMMV as well.

Take your dog to the vet.
Hopefully it's not suffering from mange mites.
