"The Waiting" Support Group

Well I'm in to for a while. All these chick pictures are really cute but I'm envious. I dont even know what chick grit and grogel is. I never gave it to my chicks before.

I've got some seramas going to hatch soon I hope but their not at my house and their going to stay where their at for quite a while.(my seramas are staying at a foster home)!!!!

I've got some leghorn bantams to pik up sometime next week whenever they hatch. But I am really wanting the egggs in my incubator to hatch and they are only on day 6.
I have some buff brahma bantams and some buff Orpington bantams and some leghorn bantams in there. LLLOOONNGG way off. Boy those white leghorns are breeding like rabbits. They dont care that its -25 degrees with the wind chill.

Can someone tell me what grogel is and chic grit and where to get it?

We are in the process of building our brooder. I am trying to go slowly so I can keep my mind off of adding to my order yet again. It is just too easy to add on. I am thinking of adding some Banty's. I have one banty now with a bunch of standards. Surly she is lonely? And really, at this point what is a few extra chicks thrown in with the order? Right?

-trying to remain strong until the shipping on the 27th....

That was exactly what I said when I increased my order from 30 to 40 chicks. So I say go for more.

Well, on a good note, the snow is melting here. It's supposed to be 48 today and 50 tonight. Spring MUST be on its way, right? RIGHT???

Every single day I think about adding more chicks to my order, lol. It's a sickness!

Vitamins are nice to have on hand, especially in times of stress. Lots of people like to start their chicks with some sort of vitamin supplement. Grit is for birds eating anything other than regular feed, eg. snacks, lol.

What a great group... hopefully it will curb my nerves.. my chicks were supposed to arrive on the 11th and never showed up.. I was so sad... I called the hatchery and they are replacing them free, but these aren't coming until the 3rd of March. I don't mind the wait, but I am so sad for the first batch, and am worried sick over my second batch! So hard to be patient..

I ordered my chicks Jan 22. Then they sent me an email saying the shipping date was 2/13. I got so excited and called on the 14th. It was a mistake. The real shipping date is 3/12
