These girls will not be staying with me, I hatched them for someone that wanted them and they have not responded, so I listed them for sale, hoping they find new chickie moms or dads soon.

Hello Welsummer fans. I am planning my first chicken flock this spring, and must have some Welsummers. I really want to order some chicks from Nate - Shamrock Farms - SFIcelandics, BUT:

(1) I need to split the order with someone. I am on the Western slope of Colorado. Is anyone in the area - Utah, Colo., interested in sharing an order of chicks with me? I would be willing to travel to deliver chicks, and would happily spring for the shipping charge. I want 4 chicks, and the minimum order is 15.
(2) I can't have any chicks until May.

Anyone interested? Please PM me.

Thanks!

P.S. I have read this entire thread and really like the support and tone of this thread. You Welsummer people are cool! I want to join you!

Welcome, glad to have you join us, we got hatching eggs from Nate and are very happy with how the birds are growing!

Fired up this beautiful beast Thursday! I love this thing! Hold's temp wonderfully and is holding humidity great. I'm not using the bucket drip system for adding water, I will just be adding water myself this trip using a tube that I put in and just funnel it in. After 2 days, I finally had to add water this morning and it doesn't take very much water at all to keep humidity steady. Did I say.....I LOVE THIS THING!?!?!?!?!

EweSheep I didn't forget the eggs, it's been super busy here this past week and they are sitting on my counter just have to finish packing them- they are just the shells, I showed the kids how to blow eggs out!

20 Wellies and 22 Marans, was hoping for 22 Wellies but they didn't give me any the day that I set them to add, so now I will be collecting again for the next couple of weeks to set another batch of both, then I will start filling hatching egg orders.

Babies, babies, babies!!!!!

Hello everyone, I just finished building a new 12 by 14 chicken coop with a 30 by 50 run. I show birds in 4h, FFA and at APA shows. The only breed of chicken I know allot about is the cochin. Right now I only have ten birds in my coop, so I wanted to add more breeds.. I found the page for Whitmore farms and I thought about ordering Amercuanas and Wellsummers from them. How is the quality of their birds? In addition to showing some of the birds I would probably sell the eggs. My neighbors constantly demand the eggs my chickens and can't believe that there are chickens that lay blue eggs. I think that Welsummers look prettier than Black copper marans and they are also a recognized breed. Please tell me about your experience with wellsummers so I can decide if I want to add them to my pampered flock.
