I don't have much to say about them. I just know that they are beautiful, sweet, and great for breeding purposes

I'm sure that you can get some other great advice here though

Okay, I am a little dense and may need some guidance......I'm guessing the pullet on the right is from eggs you hatched from me?

Yes, the big one with brighter color is from you.

I thought so, I was going by size and recognized the head, but I wasn't sure if it was a trick question or if you were just testing me.

WoW! She is quite a bit bigger than the other pullet, she gets that from her daddy you know.

Are they the same age or approx. the same age?

Welcome to the Welsummer Thread!

They are beautiful, they lay beautiful colored eggs, they are not flighty or aggressive, the males make great protectors of their flocks, they sing a wonderful egg song everyday to announce to you that they are going to give you an egg, they are great foragers and they get along very well with other birds. Did I mention that they are beautiful?

Welcome to the Welsummer thread!

How old are these boys Matt? They still look quite young and if they are still young they will fill out more, if it were me I would use Tonk for producing chicks but I would also keep Honk around as well and maybe test mate him to see what he will throw, I like Honk's tail set more than I like Tonk's, IMO, Tonk has a little bit too high of tail set.
When I zoomed in on Honk's photo it looked like something is on his right foot in between his outer and middle toes, is that dirt or something? Hoping it is not feather stubs, but I can't see it clearly enough in the photo to make it out. If they are feather stubs then I would disregard my previous statement and not test breed Honk and stick with Tonk. They are both beautiful boys.

Len~

By the way...I have 20 Wellie eggs set in the bator (which I LOVE, Thank you!) I will only be keeping a couple of pullets out of this hatch and selling the rest. I have a lady who wants a couple but that will leave me with alot left over.......you want any?

I am guessing its the lighting but I think the eggs are too light. I don't see anything "terra cotta" about it. However it has the lovely speckles LOL!

Not easy to take pictures by cell phone, they don't have the greatest focus or color index in them.
