A few pics of my new week old Wellies. Ordered them from a hatchery ordered 15 received 19 and havent lost one yet. Can't wait to get those dark brown eggs! I've owned Wellies once before years ago and glad to have some again.

12 wellie eggs in the bator, along with 6 Isbars and 19 barnevelders.

And my DH will be out of town the week they hatch, so I can watch bator TV all I want!

how can you tell if they are pullets. Please? I'm new to he welsummer breed i have 4 that are 4 weeks old today

how can you tell if the are pullets Please?

the girls will have what looks to be black eyeliner above their eyes and a more distinct "V" shape on top of their head with the tip of the "V" pointing towards the beak. The boys are lacking the eyeliner and the "V" isn't as sharp. hope this helps

I'd say the one on the right in the top picture is a cockerel. The majority of the others are pullets.

I agree, I see lot's of pullets too.

I ordered 15 pullets and 3 cockerels. The hatchery sent one extra chick and turns out it is a pullet also (yes!). cant wait for the little ladies to start laying.

How many Wellies do you all own? and how long have you been raising Wellies?
