The Welsummer Thread!!!!

So I'm walking back from the hen house this evening with my one lone egg. My Wellie, Autumn, was first to start laying after the winter break and is the only one reliably giving me eggs. I saw my terra cotta pots and just had to put the egg there---yup, that's terra cotta alright!
Me too Happy Chooks, I had to LOOK hard and thought that egg was the handle LOLOLOL Good job!

We have 2 out of 3 Welsummer eggs pipped, hoping they hatch

This is Rocky the Wellie. How does he look? I'm kinda concerned because he almost looks like a Shamo and I'm not sure if that's how wellies are suppose to look like.

I like his leg color and his comb... his body color looks a little off, but that could be the lighting. How old is he? He looks like he might be going through that gangly teenage period

Knowing the age of your bird will help in evaluating. Also a better quality picture where we can see his chest. Try comparing him to this picture of my rooster.

Hello everyone. I need some help. I am looking for a nice dark egg laying (or one day will lay) wellie hen/pullet. I am looking for a breeder in the NC/SC area, and live in Mooresville NC, near Charlotte. I would greatly appreciate any help could get in locating a few of these birds. Thanks in advance for your response!-C.
