What efforts are being made at this point? Has anyone introduced LF with good egg color to a line and bred back down, or mostly just selecting for darkest eggs from bantams?

I'm working with crossing my LF to my bantam SDW in hopes of creating a LF version of the SDW - but also in hopes of getting some improvement on the bantam egg color. I'm getting ready to incubate my first eggs from this crossing in a week or two.

We just picked up 12 Welsummer chicks today. I am hoping these do better for us than the barred Rocks we got from a hatchery last November.

i have my first 5 welsummer chicks . pullets from ideal. next week i get my eggs for hatching some "real " ones
