Now that is one speckled egg!
Looks like a little red headed boy with lots of freckles. It pains me a little not to put this one in my incubator. But I did send this one to someone else to hatch today. If that hen keeps putting out those I'm afraid I'll just have to.......

Black Breasted Red OEGB or Welsummer? Or something else...

We got this baby and she was in a bin that said silkies and bantam.

It looked like she had a broken wing... and they were going to remove her to the back. I am assuming the end of her happy little life. This is my 1st chichicken I wasn't leaving the store with out her to ensure her safety.

We are 2 weeks old now (plus 1 day when pictures were taken)... Still trying to figure out what he is for sure. Any ideas? Black Breasted Red OEGB or Welsummer? Or something else... Is it a she or a HE?

I would say Welsummer and most likely a rooster.

No I haven't gotten another friend as of yet but I am planning to do that... I thought It would be best to figure out If Its a rooster 1st. I have stuffed animals In his cage to cuddle with. The wing is great it lays flat and he spreads it and flaps it and seems to be very happy it doesn't even look like it was ever broken originally It stuck out like an airplane wing as you can see in the picture it looks great. My daughter held him cupped In her hand for the 5 hour ride home and that seemed to reset the wing so i didnt splint it or mess with it. He was pretty quiet for the first two days home with out a lot of movement. I'm sure with the new environment which allowed for him to get rest. We've had him 11 days now.
