I love my wellies, they are so sweet! Not as lovey as my other birds but they are very soft. I am super excited to see how pretty my rooster turns out to be. They are in a bit of an awkward stage right now but give them a few more weeks lol

This is my 5 wk Welsummer mix, I believe she's a Pullet due to her marking at hatch. I got her in a barnyard mix of eggs and her egg was a beautiful solid dark brown. Anybody want to give a guess to what she might be mixed with??

i have a question..if i let my wellie roo breed one of my wyandottes will the pullets i get lay dark brown eggs like the wellies or is it still a crap shoot and it can go either way..

this is what happens to the eggs
thanks but i am not sure that answers my question...i have birds that lay lighter brown eggs ..i am woundering if the wellie roo mates a lighter brown egg layer ,if the eggs will be more the color of the terracotta color that wellies lay or will it be more likely to be a light brown egg , like the hen lays now..wow that was a mouthful..

I would think they would get darker, though each hen from that mating might lay anything from light brown to chocolate brown.
