I was wondering if anyone that keeps welsummers could help me sex these two chicks. One is a bit lighter than the other but it seems to be feathering quicker, I think I have a possible pullet and a roo. They're about 9 days old. I'm sure I saw somewhere they can be sexed at day olds, but I don't really see much difference.

Pullet left, roo right?

Roo? Based on lighter colour, but feathers are growing quicker.

Pullet? This one is darker, but slower feather growth.

Both look like pullets from what I can see. Look for the dark definition in the V and the stripes on the back.

I don't see any welsummer breeders in MN or North Dakota.  @faykokoWV
is in West Virginia and has great stock.  I know she ships hatching eggs.

pretty birds..i see lily has a little white feathers at the base of her tail..i have noticed this same thing on my 10 week old roo..does this white go away in time or is it a trait they keep..any answers welcome to this ..

I had a roo a couple years back that had his main sickles turn white at about 10 months. All white, not a little fleck.

Is she breeding? Could it be the fluffy under feathers sticking out where she's lost dark feathers from a roo?
