The Welsummer Thread!!!!

A friend of mine have me a baby welsummer and i put him with my amercona baby's all to gather in a brooder and as they got older mine started to pic on him. He got sick so I brot him in and 3 days latter he died. I don't thank Mine was letting him eat.
 
But I would like to get more

If you have no cock/erel she may be acting as flock lead/protector.
Either way human aggression should be curbed asap.
Do not tolerate her jumping on you.
If she pecks, 'peck' her back, tapping sharply with the tips of a couple fingers on her head.
....and/or....put your hand firmly on her back and hold her down to the ground until she 'submits'.

@SeattleSelkie have your's from the same source as mine started to lay yet? Mine haven't.

The dark egg is from our common stock........I have had two of those 4 girls start to lay.......one at 20 weeks and another a week later......I also think I got a newbie egg this morning (a dark egg laid on the coop floor instead of the nest boxes where the others are all laying makes me think that).

The early layer had the single left hole punch. Here she is at 20 weeks POL.
