The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Well, lucky with the Wellies in regards to hatching pullets.

With Marans, I ended up with way more boys than girls.

But it's all relative...I guess. My Marans started laying between age 17 weeks and 20 weeks.

Weeks later, the Marans are popping them out every day, and nothing from the Welsummers.

Their combs are fire engine red, so hoping any day now....

For my hens from PinkChick I know it is true. I have some other hens that I have recently hatched eggs from and I have leg banded the ones I think are boys so we'll see if it carries to that line as well.

Mediazeal~ We loooovvvveee to see baby pics. They are TOO CUTE!
I see one girl in the last 2 photos that you have posted. I only work with LF Welsummers but the "eye-liner" and "V" have always worked for me 100%.
Can you post pictures of them showing the "V" on top of their heads? Congratulations!

Cheryl~

Wilma finally got her groove on!!!!!! Yippee!

Congrats!!!!!!

Thanks I'm so proud of Wilma...so interesting that she took so long to "get her groove on" She's not that fond of being held, so I have to "work" on her (mealworms on my lap etc!!!) She does love her sunflower seeds!

*whispers*............a little birdie told me yesterday that my hatching eggs for my new line of Welsummers are on their way and could be here tomorrow!!!!!!!!
