It never worked for me as far as lighting goes. My Wellies would lay when they want to lay whether they had lights or not.

I would imagine if the bird was bred for production, there MIGHT be a link. However with breeder birds, they would delay egg laying or maturity a little slower.

Okay folks I got the e-Newsletter out today this morning! Pinky I need your updated email...my Daemon servers said your email is non-deliverable!

And Nate was added on to the Membership list....I am hoping to HAVE MORE members on that list. So if you haven't, pm me your name, address (or city and state if you prefer) and email addy. I will try to have an e-Newsletter quarterly but missed Summer when everyone was so busy.

Hey everyone-
I have been thinking of doing a contest for young kids to get a chance to recieve some free welsummers. I breifly talked to Robin about it.

Here is what I/WE were thinking:
ENTRY ESSAY:
-Age Restriction: ___ to ___(undecied on age yet, any suggestions?)
-Essay form
-Why they want welsummers
-What they plan to do when they get them, how do they raise them(caged, free range, etc), what are they going to do after they show them(fundraiser, college fund, etc)
-What shows they plan to show at/go to.

GROWING ALONG THE WAY/SHOWING:
-Updated pictures of them with the birds
-Mature birds
-Pictures at A show
-Submit show records

Trying to keep this fun and fairly simple, but still keep them active in the club along the way.

There is also going to be a page set up for Youth Memberships with the Child's name and the Parents name under.

I believe there will also be a page devoted to the Winner of these free chicks this year, 2011(depending on how this goes, I will probabally do this again in 2012)
