Nate, if you really want some Orloff chicks, email Erhard and ask him just as Robin mentioned. You might also let him know that I asked you to email him as he knows I don't make a regular habit of sending people to ask for something he doesn't do. And that I thought he might make a one-time exception as long as you don't publicize that he ships chicks. That will probably help.
Also, I don't have Orloffs. I had some Mahogany Russian Orloff (MRO) chicks from Erhard but lost them. I will be getting more from him - probably at the show in a few weeks. But I am only going to have those. The MRO is not an accepted variety - yet. I just really like the looks of them and as far as I know, Erhard has the only established flock of MROs in the country. I finally convinced him this last year to start selling some of them because they would all be gone if God forbid anything should ever happen to his flock.
It will probably be some time before I get NPIP certified if I ever do. WA State passed a new law last year that makes it cost-prohibitive for me to get certified. It's $85/hr to have the vet come to my house and that starts from the time he leaves his office in Oly which is about 4 hours away. Add another 2-2.5 hours for testing birds here plus the return trip and you can see why I'm not doing it. Do you realize how many eggs and birds I'd have to sell just to pay for the certification?
God Bless,
