Thanks Ewesheep and Happy Chooks!

Got another one today. This one wasn't speckled, it was a nice matte terra cotta color. Is this the same girl or another? (I have 3 ready to lay)

I know there is some variety in egg color/speckles, but I guess my primary question is do they lay consistently the same way - speckles or not?

With my girls, I do know which lays which egg.

I have ONE girl that would lay solid, beautiful and dark.

The others would be more orangey, speckled and other would be dark and speckled and one would have purplish speckles. Each hen has their own ID stamp on the eggs. I don't see them change that much thru their laying cycle except at the beginning, getting their "ink jets" tuned up and at the end, ink cartridges going dry.

Got another today; that is 4 eggs in 6 days! This egg is even darker than the others have been, and I was so happy with THEM. I think I've figured out WHO it is that is laying, and have spoken sternly to the other 2 girls

I don't want to talk about getting eggs. My girls were laying well until late October. Since then, NOTHING. So frustrating! We wanted to hatch some at the beginning of the year to have some mature birds for the fair. FAIL.

Unless, someone has some eggs they'd like to sell me....

I haven't been on here a while, and I was trying to find a nice thread that people can talk to each other and I'd actually no what's going on, and this thread is perfect! So, I've shown you my Wellie rooster before, but now he's so much older! I'd love to post pictures if you want to see him.
