LOL, It keep going back and forth between the two, but last time I posted I was told she was for sure a Welsummer lol. Will I ever know for sure? When she lays maybe? If the eggs are white she is a leghorn, brown, welsummer?

She was from the assorted pullets bin from the feed store and they get their chicks from Ideal.

2x because of her white earlobes. Until she lays brown eggs, she is a Brown Leghorn.

I think the picture makes the earlobes look whiter, they are actually fleshy colored, I was also told the comb was wrong for a leghorn and she had to be a welsummer

hello,
purchased some wellies,frizzled blue naked necks,blue orhington,rumpless araucana eggs due to arrive tomorrow.
please wish us luck it is our first hatch.

all looks well with the bator and it has been plugged in for days and everything is set for it.
im going to try the dry hatch and pray for a good hatching.

Babyrinc, all we can do is to wait for her to fill out some more, look at her earlobes around laying time and see what color of egg she pops out. By then, you would get your answer.

I don't know about what someone would told you about the "wrong type" of comb, they can be of any size, any points. Some would be more "fleshy" than others but if it is more promiment like Leghorns, you would know.

[Eggs Are Good]

I have an incubation question. I have an incubator full of Guinea and Welsummer eggs. They are/were due to hatch next Sunday. The big storms that came through last night knocked out our power for 12 hours. I wrapped the incubators with a wool blanket, but the temp. still dipped to 75 degrees (for about 6 of the 12 hours). Is there any hope, or should I just start over?

I experienced an electrical outage, 27 hours without proper heat and turning (about 10 days ago). The 36 eggs were 2 days from lockdown........of the 36, 30 hatched, albeit a day later than expected. There is HOPE!!!

As Snowbird/Don says, eggs are forgiving.
