The listing says they have these lines, anyone heard of the lines?

Some are from the Wadhurst lines from E.Sussex,UK..others from the Campbell and Codd line.

No, that is why I am questioning where the birds came from. I woudl not be surprised if it came out of Canada, if that is the case. Or some new import we have not yet heard for a long time.

I bought my fist group of Welsummer chicks a couple of months ago. I picked up 3 chicks from a local breeder. I was looking forward to having at least one of those gorgeous roo's. But it looks like, for once, that I got all pullets. Usually I would end up with 2 cockerels and 1 pullet. I can't wait for the first eggs.

I know we have a few members here from across the big pond - I thought hopefully, that they would chime in.

Yes we do but not all of them respond. Not that usual to get US citizens getting some Canadian birds.

Just so you know, I tried signing up recently and have never received a response - 2 attempts.

For some reason Webs is not letting you in. You are not alone in this. I had to manually send out invites on my end to make it work. Let me know if you are having problems and I will keep trying to get you admitted for membership.

Thanks for the "flag" getting my attention really fast!

Robin

Thanks Robin, it worked fine from the link you sent me.

Oh my, that never occurred to me.... ha ha ha! I can certainly see one in my future! (Geeesh, something else to research...!!!!) I love this thread! You're all a big bunch of lovely "enablers"!!!! LOL (and that's very sweet of you, Happy Chooks!)

And if you have kids that take a liking to having chickens then your numbers increase too!!

Nope - we "are" the kids. DH loves them as much as me though, and is looking forward to learning the incubator, too. We just need to research, figure out what we want, and commit. He already has plans for converting part of our barn into "chicken habitat"...
