Thanks Friends! I would love to incubate this egg and the others she has been giving, but she is in with one of my Marans roosters. I can't wait until the boys I hatched out from HappyChooks are bigger! They are looking great by the way...I'm fixing to go out and get photos of them this morning.

Happy chooks, I'm so bummed. the eggs I sent you were some of the lightest I've had all year, then yesterday and today, out of 10 eggs, 6 were some of darkest eggs I've had all year!! Darn it all. Wish we didn't have to rush your order to time with your broody hen! I think they were so happy about not having to be cooped up for the NPIP guy anymore they decided to grant me some beautiful eggs.

No worries, I knew I took my chances on such short notice. I'm sure they will still be beautiful eggs. I'm not setting the eggs under my broody until Tuesday at the earliest (possibly Wed morning) as I just counted it out yesterday and she'd be hatching on Memorial Day weekend. We won't be here and I don't want her hatching with me not here to keep an eye on things. (especially since she's a first time broody Barred Rock) So I'll hold off the eggs for a day or so to make her hatch after I return.
