Hey Superchemicalgirl, I found out a really nice trick to fix the gaps on the end of rows of eggs in the Brinsea. Take some waxed paper and wad it up and use it as filler in any spaces you have where eggs tip over. It works great!

Definately had to be washed . Unlike most , I've washed [ or wiped with a damp cloth , depending ..... ] every dirty egg I had .

I clearly saw a marble sized bubble moving as I turned the egg , and called it a detached air cell

. I'm new at this , so maybe mislabeled it .

AGH!!! My roadside stall was sold out!

I'll have to try again tomorrow, I CAN'T miss this hatchalong.

I am currently debating the eggs in my fridge... they are free range from a local farm but I've never seen or heard a roo there. I have however cracked them and seen what looks a lot like a bullseye. They have been in the fridge for a few days but I think I might have to go crack some (excuse for baking?) and see what I find. I have 2 1/2 dozen in there I picked up on Friday...

Yeah, that's what I'd call it too.

My lonely egg in lockdown is my sole survivor of 24 shipped eggs. Some had a large bubble like you described, some looked like they had been violently shaken and had many small bubbles.

I'll happy to get any considering the rough ride they had but I've been bitten by the bug, I want more of these eggs so if I can't find a reason for a road trip I will be gambling on more shipped eggs.

My local Farmer's Union had free Farmer's Almanac Calendars, so I grabbed 2

on the side it has:
Best Days In February(for example)
For Planting
Aboveground crops 5, 14, 15
Belowground crops 22,23

For Setting Eggs
11, 12, 20-22

For Fishing
2-18

My garden didn't do so well this past year, but I think that was due to infrequent watering & overcrowded garden beds.

They were and are three different crosses , and of interest to me for my project of breeding an Ameraucana type bird with greater size and carcass qualities ; in other words better suited to serve as a true dual purpose variety .

Good or bad , shipped eggs are often the only feasable way of getting a quality start of the variety we want , or desired additions to improove what we already have in our flocks . If each shipment of eggs were handled by a paid individual , or series of individuals , in a manner that kept them safe from harm and hatchable , I suppose the cost would be too high to make them obtainable for the average Joe .
