I have to chime in here. I own a small store and I LIVE HERE. I have marked areas where the parking should be so that people don't block my ONE gas pump so others can get to it, and not to park in front of the propane tank, so others can get to it. My parking lot can easily hold SIX Semis with trailer on the back. I know this, because it's happened.

So, where do people park? Anyplace but where it says 'PARK HERE'. Why? Because they are generally lazy and/or have no respect for other's property (Been doing this for 7 years, I see it a LOT). I generally don't say anything unless another PAYING customer (did I relay the fact the those parking in the wrong places usually only want to PEE?) tries to get in or around the offending vehicle.

The only time I ALWAYS say something is if they make a point to go ALLLL the way to the END of the lot and park directly in front of my home and dog kennels where there are THREE NO PARKING signs... happens a lot. People just don't give a crap anymore.

So yes, I can relate to the business owner, and NO I'm not always nice about it because it happens ALOT.

she has 5 parking spots (at least) and she is one person who can groom one dog..... (she doesn't board dogs or anything like that, she is just a groomer) but instead of letting someone park there for 5 min.... or as the case turned out after she yelled at me... less than 30 sec in the lot... I had to block a highway..... Her customers can't get into her lot if I blocked a highway. Before I started parking there and before she started her business I asked everyone else if it was alright and they had no problems with me parking in front of there businesses for the brief time... only problem was none of them had any spaces open very often.

I probably should of asked her when she came in... but the air around her place wasn't inviting. For this whole last year all 5 of those spots have been empty. She stayed open for one year....

But any way she is gone now. Too bad busing around here is too.

SO, that means if I come park in your driveway its ok? I'll bring a BIG truck and be there is a few. I'll only block part of though. Not enough for anyone to get in, just part of it.
Yeah, I agree, the world IS full of cry babies!

Generally, an obvious sign must provide notification that unauthorized vehicles will be towed for towing to be legal, and not considered theft. There is a difference between parking in a lot that has a single business and includes a home and is well marked with No Parking signs, and a lot that serves multiple businesses and has no signs specifying No Parking.

You are correct, but the attitude of most people is the same as the OP... no respect and not caring. And after 7 years of doing this, I can tell you that it doesn't get better, which to me, is very sad.

Another example of not caring....

Woman pulls into the parking lot, gets out, lets out three LARGE dogs...loose. The dogs obviously make a beeline for my living property here as they smell my dogs. She comes in the store and I ask "Can I have your address?"
She "But why?"
Me "So I can bring my NINE dogs to YOUR HOUSE to take a crap."

She got mad at ME

**sigh--You can't fix stupid**
DH has his Attorney's Office in a strip mall. WE like it because our clients get free parking. (C-U, IL charges 75 cents/hour for metered parking now!!!)
We try to park right in front but it's only because it's (A) more convenient and (B) it makes the office look busy. We don't have a problem with a non-customer parking right in front because drivers get traffic tickets and they remember us.
Their grooming salon is the LAST place you'll take your dog, now, and your friends know not to go there, too.
