The Wyandotte Thread

Its really hard to tell on a rose comb i just try to look for the darker red combs. Sometimes you can tell by the tail feathers. Most times you have to wait till they dtart crowing i know thats no help. My guess 20 weeks.

Okay thanks! I figured that was the case. It's just killing me not knowing if hes blue, black, or splash!!!
 
I was able to tell the gender of mine by 10 weeks.[/quote I have hear if i can tell the d you can tell by the wing feathers . Round they are hens and pointed they are roosters. I got some in the incubator soon as they hatch im going to see if i can tell the difference.

Huh, I'm going to test that theory when I hatch some....
 
My little splash? is looking kinda ruff. Everyone else is almost feathered out.

I don't really know what to make of a lot of the theories on sexing chicks and eggs out there. I think they are what Gail Damerow calls ''screwpot notions'' to be honest. :idunno
 


I have a few extra Lavender Wyandottes that I want to offer for sale when they are 15 weeks old. What price should I ask for them? Thank you
