The Wyandotte Thread

Hi Wyandotte folks! I hatched these chicks that were labeled BLRs. I'm questioning that, as their lacing doesn't look right to me. Before I contact the seller (it could be my inexperience or an honest error) I'd just like to double check. Do these look like BLRs to you?

Does anyone recommend wyandottes as friendly chickens and good layers? I'm expanding my flock since none I'm my chickens really enjoy human company. I was a little sad since we socialized with them a lot as chicks.

Wyandotte can be super sweet.

However, there are differences between the full size and bantam, and the colors.

So..

Sliver laced are supposed to be the best layers. They are not as likely to be pet-like.

My bantam partridge and bantam blue Wyandotte have been very sweet.

I have only 1 blue girl right now, and she is excellent.

The bantam blue laced reds I had were almost as sweet (but not the males ), but their laying was horrid.

My current blue girl lays decently.

In general I have found that bantams make better pets.
