Hello,
New to BYC and I would like some opinions on which rooster I should keep as my "back up". These guys were all hatched at the same time and are 17 weeks old.
They are a bit nervous looking because I took them all out of the pen to get separate shots of them and the wind was blowing feathers out of place.
This is my 1st keeper

Now here are the other three I have to choose from

Thanks, I had chickens 20 plus years ago and just got back into keeping them. I purchased 2 RIRs for eggs and since have found that "chickens are like potato chips you can't just have one" I looked around on-line and found BYC and pictures of beautiful birds. I just had to have some BLRWs and ended up with 12 chicks. Eight of them pullets( I think). just 17 weeks old. I am hoping they will fill out more as they mature. Once they are laying I can pick the best ones for breeding. ( I told my husband we need a few more so I could sell the eggs to help with the feed costs and I now have built an incubator and am waiting to receive some cochin eggs to see if I can get a good roo for the Blue cochin hen I saw and had to have.

IF you see any that might be roos, please let me know.

Wow..there is so much to read on this thread!! Well it looks like I've come to the right spot!! Can I get any advise along with the best info on showing. My husband and I started raising BLR's last year. We are getting into the wyandotte breed all together now and have all different colors. We decided that we would like to show some of our birds. Can anyone give us some info on either websites or info on showing in general? We need to know everything, rules, regulations and requirements of showing. Thanks so much!! I'm going to post some of my boys and girls here soon.
