The Wyandotte Thread

My eggs from him hatched pretty well. I got a trio of columbians, partridge and 5 GL out of the eggs I bought from him. You are going to like his Columbians!

We will be offering our whites chicks again this year. Our whites where shown this year and won two state fairs by people who have purchased chicks from us. We showed them recently and beat one one the nations premeire breeders of white rocks with our white Wyandottes. We have been working with our whites for six years now and are in it for the long haul.

I heard a Rhode Island Red won Champion American....... it must have been a really nice one.

We never get shipped eggs to hatch here. I even paid for express mail one time and the air cells were still broke.

Darn it, stop that! Every time you show your chickens, I want more! LOL!! Actually I've wanted whites but I want them in bantams.

Very nice birds but it really is the photography. If you know how to photograph your really nice birds, you have them sold. If you can't then you have other ways to sell them but a good picture can sell a bird. (learned that from "Selling Parrots 101)

That stinks! I get shipped eggs here at least twice a week. Really the secret of shipping eggs so that the air cells don't break is shipping them so that they're right side up (pointy side down). That way the air cell doesn't get sloshed back and forth and get detached from the sides. Since I started shipping like that and I requested my eggs be shipped like that, I have had no broken air cells at all. Its when the eggs are laid on their side that it happens.

In my humble opinion you can take a fantastic picture of a bad bird and it will only make it look worse. I do not use any trick photography nor do I even prepare the birds in any way for pictures and can assure you that what you see is what you get. On the other hand if the picture is taken in low light situations or is blurry or the bird is at a distance those are the pictures I would be more likely to question. So when you say “very nice birds but it really is the photography” it sounds as if your saying it’s the photography that makes them nice not the bird itself or the hard work we put into them every year.

We have had our eggs packaged many different ways.....I thought out of all of the boxes shipped the one that was shipped express would have been a safe bet...oh well,
we just stick with chicks or pick up birds or eggs at a show.
Who did you order you eggs from again??? MIght be worth a try shipping them to my moms house.....
