Welcome to the Wyandotte thread

Thanks. I love my BLRW. Large and gentle breed and easy to care for.

WyandotteTX you have lovely bantams; but do you breed any of the large fowl size wyandottes?

Alright Turbos yall are too funny.....We had spicy Chili at our party, it was very tasty.

BooBear, Wyandotte bantams are my thing and I appreciate your nice comments. My partner, Jamie, is the LF Wyandotte breeder. She has SL, BLR, Blue, Black, Splash from the Foleys. My dad also has the LF Buffs(btw I think he just put 4 doz eggs in the incubator).

I have raised LF and bantam Wyandottes for at least 3/4 of my life(Im 40). The first LF I ever had were some gigantic Whites 30 plus years ago. My first bantams were not long after that, I had a pair of SL and GL.....still have pictures of them somewhere haha...
Everybody has their breed that caught their eye and Wyandottes would be mine(like everyone else, I have other favorites as well). The only bantam varieties I havent raised are Birchen, Lemon Blue, Brown Red, BB Red and Blue Breasted Red.....and from what I can tell none of these color varieties exist anymore.

NICE BANTAMS wyandotteTX

My plans are not going well. The run & coop will be ready in March but point of lay Wyandottes dont seem to be available then,

I can get other birds easy. So do i get the birds i want & miss out on eggs for most of the years or buy normal hens & start collecting eggs end of April !

Still time something may pop up.

Both.

Get the chicks you want and look for p.o.l. pullets. You still have time to make the coop bigger.

Just get a couple of laying hens and chicks or starter pullets of the Wyandottes you want. That way you will have eggs but at the same time the ones you really want.
Cake with icing and sprinkles.
