Yes, when we say blue, we mean blue laced red, just don't say all the words.
Splash is a lighter shade of the variety, but still blue laced red.
I'd be surprized if you have a "black laced" bird. It will probably turn out to be a dark blue laced red.

Boy do I feel dumb
Sorry!! I am just getting started with chickens and totally clueless
I have 3 wyandotte chicks i kept from a hatch of bought eggs. they look like 2 blacks and a light blue (might be a splash). I think both blacks are hens and the blue is a male, sorry about the bad photo, no one wanted to sit still!
Beautiful birds no matter to me what lines they came from hehe I have no clue about that......... newbie here,
anyway I finally heard back from P.P today that the hatchery that my mystery chicks came from carries 2 white breeds besides cornish cross. White rocks and white Wyandottes, I updated pictures and started another name this breed thread here https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=497519
I'm hoping you guys can take a look at this thread and see if these are indeed white Wyandottes, to me I think the 5 bigger chicks with a higher comb are WR, the other 2 with flatter combs smaller and fluffier are WW, please take a look and see if you know if that is indeed what my mystery chicks are finally ? TY all for all your help and guess's for before and for now. TYVVM Kim
