The Wyandotte Thread

Partridge is by far my favourite (unless you count jubilee - but I've only seen those in pictures) colour in any breed. I'd really like to get partridge rocks :drool
I've never actually seen it in Wyandottes before. It's not a common colour. White is the most common here. I find that kind of boring. I like patterns!

White is a very boring color. I have a white Frizzle, and I'd really wish she's stay white. I never knew Partridge was a rare color in Wyandottes. There we're two at the show, mine, and another one that my friend bought that looks just like mine. They were from the same breeder. The only difference is one did better then the other at the show, which is mine. Reserve breed.

It's not to say it's rare, just in my area. No one is breeding the partridge colouring.. At least no one that is showing. We had an entire show dedicated to wyandottes and they were almost all white :/

He did have some for a while because they were threatened/ rare but decided to pass on the large fowl partridge project to focus on his other breeds. I was going to get his breeding trio but was unable to make it to lucasville, Oh that weekend due to school :(.

Hey Ryan!

Are these the ones you've been waiting on? The Gardhouse ones?!
How are things looking for coming up this way for the show? I'm getting excited, I don't think my wyandottes will be in feather, but I'm working on conditioning them as much as possible. I swear in the last 6 months, as soon as one comes out of molt, another one goes into molt and now some of the ones that were looking really good for show are showing signs of molt. I really don't like this weather!
