I can easily understand why there could be problems given their shape. Lots of good info for me when they become breeding age. Thanks!

Quote: these 2 pics tell me blue laced... one of my 'black laced' chicks is actually coming in blue - same age as this one, but the single combed girl who's going to swap with me this weekend.
Quote: Not sure a chicken is worth that.... Fertility in SLW is relatively low that is common. I may have to run 2 roos with the hens down the road, just to make sure. He told me no more than 3 hens per roo, but this roo just has one hen.
make sure you trim the girl too... above the vent for her, below the vent for him. just to be doubly sure that contact can happen.

She is really BALD. Foley plucked her so she is still bare.
Quote: the problem with the turkeys is that they are physically too heavy for the hen to support the tom during breeding... wyandottes typically don't have that problem, but like cochins (who they resemble a lot IMO) the fluff around the vent is so thick and dense that even if the roo is doing his job, the fluff is catching everything and preventing fertility.
Slick, when yours start laying I want some eggs please. I can not find any good ones here.
Sure, but you may need to remind me. I'm supposed to be state inspected next week so that will be out of the way prior to them laying.
