Dunno if this has been covered in previous threads or not, but i was wondering what a chicken would look like if you bred a BLRW to a SLW? any pics? Thanks
If the BLRW was rooster and the SLW was a hen, the results would be:Dunno if this has been covered in previous threads or not, but i was wondering what a chicken would look like if you bred a BLRW to a SLW? any pics? Thanks
Only if you bred to BLR. We did that once, SL roo over BLR hen, got all roosters with a yellow tint to them-not as nice a a true SL.Silver laced Wyandotte's are sex linked? Please explain how to tell male chicks from female?
If you breed a (Blue) BLRW roo x SLW hen, your offspring will look like this:Interesting. Because I have a BLRW rooster that I might breed to some silver laced hens. Did you say you hatched nothing but Roos with that combo?
Yeh, we didn't want any more roosters, so we stopped breeding the two.Interesting. Because I have a BLRW rooster that I might breed to some silver laced hens. Did you say you hatched nothing but Roos with that combo?
Quote: if your goal is to improve type, i'd recommend doing it this way, even if you end up with leakage in the short term... the slw seems to overall have a better type than many of the blrw i've seen.
this is my goal with the cochins too. besides that my batch of silver laced eggs hatced 2 roos. my gold laced should be here tomorrow or wed. crossing fingers for at least 3 pullets...
