he's a gold laced... the red's not quite dark enough to be a black laced red (black version of a blue laced red) IMO. tho he is a lot darker than some i've seen.

I think you're better off using the urch roo over both gold girls, keep the top guy as backup roo 'just in case' something happens...I think we have a very nice foundation to start with. It's just disappointing to make the mistake of the BLR x GL breeding. We've decided to just sell all those offspring and not make that mistake again.
That is a nice GLW hen, where did you get her?

to the blue hen you'd get 50/50 blue black and probably some nice dark chicks, to gold, you'll probably get mostly reds first generation but easy enough to weed out by breeding back to gold and keeping only golds.
Yes Jen,Hope everyone is having a great Friday!!!
Before I go through the time of taking pictures and posting them...
Would there be any benefit of taking pictures of my 12 day old BLR, black laced red and GL chicks for evaluation! This is the mixed batch.

Quote: You have two good breeders!. ..For not knowing what you are doing..you are doing pretty darn good. Your GL Roo is pretty nice..Your GL hen looks like she has a nice tent. Awsome craigslist find. I like your birds..you have a good eye.
Over the past few years several members have been asking about Tollbunt Wyandottes. Following the recipe given by the Dutch geneticist Sigrid van Dort http://www.chickencolours.com/pagina11.html I started the project to create Tollbunt Wyandotte in 2010, beginning with red mille fleur X black laced red Wyandottes. Now, 3 years later, I’m happy to show some photo’s of one of my Tollbunt Wyandotte cockerels (large fowl, hatched 2/16/2013).
