The Wyandotte Thread

Hi everyone,

I have 2 Chocolate Wyandotte cockerels (approx 13 weeks old-GFF line) that I cannot keep. Anyone interested or any ideas how to place them?

I've had GLW for 5 years and love them. Never had an aggressive roo. Last spring we had silkies, buff ,light, and coronation sussex in the brooder with the GLW. The Wyandotte 's were always the first to greet you. Jump up on your shoulder , go to sleep on your knee. I now have silver laced and red blue laced, I find them to be very similar in temperament . My advice would be "go for it".

I got my first Wyandotte over the weekend (gold laced). She's beautiful. She's only 4 weeks old and I got her along with some other chicks to add to my flock. She is very friendly and super nice. Great addition!

I have a GL Pullet whom is about 3 months old. She RUNS that roost! She is more aggresive then my roo. Not mean just very pushy

Ok I have 5 of them. They are very piggy type hens. They will eat and get full before they let anyone else at. Then still try and keep them away from the food. Good luck

I got two each golden and silver laced. At almost 7 weeks old is their anyway to tell the difference between a hen or roo? Do Roos feather in slower?

New to Wyandottes here. It will be a couple of months, but I have SLWs and GLWs. One SLW is a roo who I want to breed occasionally with the hens. Am I okay to put him with one of my GLWs, or could it ruin the resulting chicks' colors/lacing? What colors would I end up with?
